Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The introduction of minimally invasive techniques has forever changed the field of surgery; time, experience, and technological advancement have allowed minimally invasive surgery to become the standard of care for many abdominal operations. Since 2000, with the FDA approval of the “Da Vinci” robotic system, the robotic approach has been adopted in many surgical specialties, including solid organ transplantation. The progress of robotic-assisted kidney transplant (RAKT) has been remarkable and represents an important addition to our armamentarium. In this Special Issue, we welcome authors to submit papers on the clinical application of robotic technology in kidney transplantation.
