Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue will gather scientific articles reviewing recent advances in aplastic anemia and other bone marrow failures syndromes, focusing on new perspectives for improving patient diagnosis, treatment, and care. Even with the integration of novel advanced diagnostic tools, therapeutic approaches, multidisciplinary management strategies, and emerging insights into immunology and genetics, aplastic anemia remains a complex and rapidly evolving hematological disorder.
The included articles provide a comprehensive overview of the latest news in the field, such as improvements in bone marrow failure diagnosis, the optimization of immunosuppressive and adjuvant therapies to stimulate hematopoiesis, advancements in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation techniques, and the development of novel targeted treatments including cellular therapies. Significant emphasis is placed on the differential diagnosis of congenital bone marrow failures in children and adults up to 50 years old, highlighting newly identified genetic conditions and their impact on transplantation decisions. Furthermore, special attention is given to new transplantation approaches for patients with bone marrow failure. Long-term outcomes in aplastic anemia patients remain a vital area of research.
Reflecting on achievements, this Special Issue will consider future challenges and opportunities, focusing on promising areas such as gene editing to correct inherited defects, advances in transplantation procedures, and the integration of artificial intelligence in personalized diagnosis and treatment planning. The goal is to provide a comprehensive and current understanding of both acquired and inherited bone marrow failures, supporting ongoing efforts to enhance patient survival and quality of life.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Clinical Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
