Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is undeniable that orthopaedic implant-associated infection is a devastating complication that poses major socioeconomic impacts on healthcare systems. On top of that, the complexity of orthopaedic infections and the implications of biofilm development have been widely recognized over the last decades. The aim of this Special Issue is to collect papers investigating prevention and bespoke treatment measures against biofilm-associated infections in orthopaedics. Innovative diagnostic modalities and personalized treatment strategies for device-associated infections in orthopaedics will be prioritised. All study designs are eligible for submission, including original papers, narrative reviews, systematic reviews with or without meta-analyses; therefore, we invite you to share your knowledge and experience in this field with the aim of improving clinical practice relating to orthopaedic infections.
