Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the era of medical progress, where the emphasis is on precision diagnostics and personalized treatments, we are increasingly moving away from the classic approach. The era of personalized surgery is seen as a great perspective, promising a future where precision and uniqueness converge to redefine medical quality. Personalized surgical approaches are centered on addressing the anatomical characteristics and attributes of patients and have the potential to revolutionize surgical outcomes while reducing complications. A personalized plan takes into account the patient’s individual needs and preferences, and treatment options may include surgery, drugs, radiation therapy, or a combination of these approaches. Personalized treatment may additionally involve the use of targeted therapies that attack cancer cells. Genetic testing can also be used to identify patients at risk of developing digestive disorders, as well as to develop personalized treatment plans.

This Special Issue is dedicated to recent advances in digestive surgery. Outstanding experts interested in this topic are welcome to submit manuscripts and original reviews dealing with any of the surgical techniques or personalized therapies mentioned.
