Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Health represents an important area in our lives. Recently, increasing amounts of research have been devoted to health. As a result, we must widen the scope of the term “health” in order to understand the broader impact of healthcare upon society. The main providers of healthcare in the societies are a healthcare facilities. They represent whichever institutions participate in the health sector and are responsible for incresasing the amount of health-related activities and the practical implementation of healthcare policy and public health programmes. Hence, the management of these institutions plays a significant role in the health sector. The appropriate setting of the processes leads to fulfilling the objectives of the health sector, usually helping to increase the standard of living in a population. Last but not least, crisis management is also a part of the management processes. It is aimed at handling a crisis situation brought forth by unexpected circumstances.

This Special Issue is devoted to the management of healthcare facilities as individual units performing health-related activities. Its scope is to cover all the analyses associated with the performance of healthcare facilities and the implementation of health policy.
