Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Multidisciplinary approach for the diagnosis and management of cardiac sarcoidosis involves collaboration and development of strong relationship among various specialists in the field of sarcoidosis, heart failure, electrophysiology and advanced imaging with a view to provide comprehensive assessment of patients with this disease and improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.

Complex and rare conditions such as cardiac sarcoidosis often require the development of multi-centre registries in order to help with collection of comprehensive and standardized data from a broad patient population. Such initiatives can lead to better understand the natural history of the disease and improve the knowledge of the underlying pathophysiology. Furthermore, improvement in diagnosis and treatment can be achieved as healthcare providers can offer evidence-based care using the analysis of such datasets.

This issue highlights the role of multidisciplinary approach in diagnosis and management of cardiac sarcoidosis and offers updates about the role of multi-centre studies in the field. A new Cardiac Sarcoidosis Registry formation in the UK is described in more detail offering the platform for further enhancement in the field of cardiac sarcoidosis research.
