Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Evaluation Committee, I am pleased to announce the winner of Lubricants Travel Award—Duncan Dowson Travel Award 2018.

This award was bestowed upon Thomas Lohner, a Postdoctoral researcher in Professor Karsten Stahl’s group at Technical University of Munich, whose research focuses on TEHL contacts of gears. He is planning to present his works “Measurement of EHL Contact Temperature by Thin Film Sensors— Thermal Insulation Effects” at the Leeds-Lyon Symposium on Tribology 2018 in Leeds, UK.

This award contributes 600 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.

This was a difficult decision; high-quality applications were made for this award, and we would like to thank all the applicants for submitting their diverse and thought-provoking presentations. We congratulate Dr. Lohner for his accomplishment.
