Dear Colleagues,
Dissimilar welding is a big challenge. Materials from different material groups with different melting temperatures, mechanical properties, structures, and many other different features are often welded together. We invite you to participate in our Special Issue, entitled “Advances in Dissimilar Welding”, in the journal Materials, MDPI. The aim of this Special Issue will be to present readers with the latest developments in this field. We welcome submissions of articles on the metallographic structure and properties of a joint made of two different materials using different welding processes. For example, articles describing the welding of nickel alloys with various types of steel or the welding of high-strength martensitic steel with high-alloy steels with an austenite or delta ferrite structure are of interest. We also welcome all other cases

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
