Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pathological complications during the nine months of pregnancy can have detrimental effects not just on fetal development and maternal wellbeing, but also on the future infant and adult health. In recent years, significant advances have been made in understanding pregnancy physiopathology, but several conditions of the perinatal period still remain elusive. This Special Issue of Medical Sciences aims to publish research articles, reviews and communications focusing on the most recent research on pregnancy-related disorders as preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction, and gestational diabetes, on those conditions associated to in-vitro fertilization and on the key role that the human placenta plays in mediating several gestational complications. Moreover, this issue aims to highlight novel investigations on the epigenetic mechanisms behind fetal programming in pathological conditions and the pathogenesis of pregnancy diseases. Finally, discussions on the role of stem cells and innovative therapeutic approaches to pregnancy-related disorders are of interest.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Kind regards,

Dr. Alessandro Rolfo
Guest Editor

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website.
