Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to a forthcoming Pharmaceuticals Special Issue on “Phytotherapeutic Applications in Colorectal cancer (CRC) Management”, aiming to explore cutting-edge advancements and innovative research in the field of gene therapy and drugs as promising treatments for colorectal cancer.

Colorectal cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Despite significant progress in conventional treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, there is a pressing need for more effective and targeted therapies. Phytotherapeutic applications offer a novel approach, with the potential to revolutionize the CRC treatment landscape, providing new hope for patients.

This Special Issue will cover a broad range of topics related to phytotherapeutic applications for colorectal cancer, including but not limited to the following:

  • Development and optimization of gene delivery systems;
  • Therapeutic gene candidates and their mechanisms of action;
  • Preclinical and clinical studies on drug interventions;
  • Overcoming challenges in phytotherapeutic drug applications for colorectal cancer;
  • Biomarkers for patient selection and therapy monitoring;
  • Regulatory and ethical considerations in gene therapy drug development;
  • Molecular pathways as potential targets for phytotherapeutic drugs.

We welcome original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and case studies that contribute to a deeper understanding and advancement of phytotherapy for colorectal cancer. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the highest standards of scientific quality and relevance.

We believe that this Special Issue will provide a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaborations among scholars to advance the field of CRC management. We look forward to receiving your contributions to this exciting endeavor.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmaceuticals is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
