Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues:

Increasing economic competition, rapid technological changes, and a constantly changing labor market have led to a rethinking of the strategic pattern of organizational development, emphasizing the compatibility of economic, social, and ecological goals. Prioritization of sustainability begins at the top-level management of the organization. Strategic leadership incorporates sustainability into the formulation and implementation of business strategies that is focused on economic competitiveness, social responsibility, and harmony with nature.

This Special Issue is aimed at gaining theoretical knowledge and empirical evidence in understanding how much influence sustainable strategic leadership has over organizational performance. The emergence of this new field of research encourages scientists to contribute by bringing together ideas and insights on a wide range of sustainability issues.

We welcome contributions that address issues related (but not limited) to the following areas:

  • Has the concept of sustainable management already become an integral part of organizational performance?
  • To what extent is sustainable development declared, and to what extent is it embodied in organizational performance?
  • What are the main characteristics of sustainable strategic leadership?
  • What is the relationship between sustainable strategic leadership and organizational performance?
  • What is the role of strategic leaders in designing organizational performance in a sustainable way?
  • How do we measure organizational sustainability?
  • What are the barriers to organizational sustainability?

I look forward to receiving your contributions.
