Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Industry 4.0 is a comprehensive concept that encompasses the integration of smart manufacturing and digital transformation. This approach enables real-time decision-making, enhances productivity, improves flexibility, and fosters agility in the manufacturing process. The outcome of Industry 4.0 is a significant shift in how companies design, produce, and distribute products, ultimately leading to enhanced efficiency and competitiveness.

Manufacturers are integrating new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning into their production facilities and overall operations. These digital technologies have improved automation, predictive maintenance, process optimization, and decision support, significantly improving business efficiency and sustainability.

As the field of Industry 4.0 rapidly evolves, it is essential that we share knowledge across the research community and with relevant stakeholders to effectively adapt to new trends and advancements. To address the challenges encountered in industry and maintain our competitive edge, we encourage researchers and practitioners to submit original research articles, reviews, and case studies related to this field.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Industry 4.0 and sustainability;
  • Smart manufacturing;
  • Digital transformation;
  • Smart factory;
  • Intelligent technologies;
  • Cutting-edge technologies in Industry 4.0.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
