Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the research on strategies and algorithms was more focused in the early years. In recent years, due to the rapid development of hardware, such as CPU, GPU, TPU, memory, solid-state drives, etc., the performance is far better than Ten years ago. On the other hand, the United Nations proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. The purpose is to improve the living conditions of human beings, including the fields of agriculture and food, medicine and health care, water and power generation, environmental ecology, and engineering technology, social sciences, politics and international relations, transportation, economics, education, etc. At present, artificial intelligence has been developed to be related to everything, referred to as AI of everything (AIoE), the purpose is to develop and solve all the above-mentioned problems, the goal is how human beings can enhance the strengths and opportunities in these fields, and then reduce threats to human beings and the weakness of sustainable development, which requires the academic community to brainstorm together to put forward theories and methods. Based on this, this special issue is proposed, whether it is the theory of research or the verification report of practice, all manuscripts are welcome to achieve sustainable artificial intelligence to help achieve the goal of sustainable development of the earth.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following:

  1. Artificial intelligence control
  2. Image processing and classification
  3. Reinforcement learning
  4. Deep Learning
  5. Examples of successful application of artificial intelligence
  6. AI Prediction
  7. AI Learning Strategies and algorithm
  8. AI Model Construction
  9. Research on AI games, chess, games, etc.
  10. Research on neural networks
  11. Fuzzy logic research
  12. Research on decision-making systems
  13. Market Economic Forecast
  14. Theoretical Research on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development
  15. Artificial intelligence implementation or analysis report for sustainable development
  16. Other theoretical development or applied research on AI

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

  • Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
  • Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
  • Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
  • External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
  • e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
