Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In recent decades, sustainability has become an important worldwide issue and can be discussed concerning its influence on global development under particular conditions. The green economy represents strategies oriented towards mitigating climate change and is considered a new “green” engine of economic growth and a tool for mitigating poverty. The green economy covers many different concepts linked with sustainability on different levels. Global economies involve competing sectors in an effort to increase the share of natural renewable resource consumption. Forest ecosystems offer many different benefits from the utiliastion of renewable resources. The ways in which a forest is managed and how wood is utilised can significantly influence climate change. Sustainably managed forests provide renewable raw materials such as wood and important environmental and social services and play a vital role in the carbon cycle. Forestry and forest-based industries are key to transitioning to a sustainable green economy. This Special Issue covers the above-mentioned topics focused on forest services and wood base products. Forest ecosystem services are defined as the benefits people obtain from forests that play a significant role in climate change mitigation and could contribute to achieving a climate-neutral economy. From this point of view, the ability of wood products to store carbon can support sustainable development goals and encourage the implementation of green economy policies in the context of sustainable development in a manner that endeavours to drive sustained, inclusive, and equitable economic growth.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
