Dear Colleagues,
In recent years, we have been fortunate to experience the blooming of a new golden era of astronomy. Great strides have been made both in the scope of observation and theory of compact stars and all disciplines encompassed by such fantastic objects. The scientific community witnesses, almost daily, an abundance of new research accompanying this new era of multi-messenger astronomy.
This Special Issue aims to explore the newest advances in the observation and theory of the thermal evolution and thermodynamics of compact stars. The cooling of these objects has captured our curiosity for more than 50 years, when the first signals of compact stars were observed. The study of the thermal properties of these stars has been successfully used to investigate their composition. Our aim with this Special Issue is to provide researchers with an outlet to present their most recent advances in exploring the thermal and cooling properties of magnetars, central compact objects (CCOs), XDIMS, transient neutron stars and many other areas of interest. We hope to obtain a fantastic compendium on the theoretical and observational progress in the study of the thermal properties of these incredible objects.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Universe is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
