Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine focuses on "Treatment and Digital Outcome Assessment in Orthopaedic Trauma", addressing the critical intersection of clinical care and technological innovation in orthopaedic trauma management. The issue aims to highlight advancements in both therapeutic strategies and digital tools that enhance patient outcomes.
Orthopaedic trauma treatment has evolved significantly, with a growing emphasis on minimally invasive techniques and evidence-based rehabilitation protocols. Concurrently, digital tools such as wearable sensors, mobile applications, and advanced imaging technologies are revolutionising outcome assessment by providing objective, real-time data on patient recovery. These tools enable clinicians to monitor functional recovery, biomechanical performance, and patient-reported outcomes with unprecedented precision.
However, challenges remain in integrating these digital tools into clinical practice. Issues such as the standardisation of data collection, validation of digital metrics, and seamless incorporation into existing clinical workflows need to be addressed. Additionally, ensuring patient privacy and data security is paramount as digital technologies become more pervasive in healthcare.
This Special Issue invites submissions that explore the development, validation, and clinical application of digital tools for outcome assessment in orthopaedic trauma, as well as studies that focus on innovative treatment approaches. We encourage researchers and clinicians to contribute their insights and expertise to this important and timely topic. We welcome original research and reviews.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Clinical Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
