In this study, a new congruence[A••] has been definedby putting a tangent right conoid on each line of a ruled surface (A1(s)) of a line congruence [A]. Then, by considering special case of the congruence [A••] which has been defined in the previous part, the concepts of tangent congruence, drall and the relation among Blaschke vectors of Blaschke trihedrons, having common line Ao has been examined for this special case. At the end of this study, the concept of tangent congruence for some special congruences has been examined. Full article

A new method based on the backpropagation multilayered perceptron network for calculating the bandwidth of resonant rectangular microstrip patch antennas is presented The method can be used for a wide range of substrate thicknesses and permittivities, and is useful for the computer-aided design (CAD) of microstrip antennas. The results obtained by using this new method are in conformity with those reported elsewhere. This method may find wide applications in high-frequency printed antennas, especially at the millimeter-wave frequency range. Full article

This study aims at the uusteady now analysis of complex pipe system by lIsing the method of characteristics. Excess demand and sudden closure and opening of devices such as valves and pumps causes the occurrence of uusteady now. Hydraulic analysis of pipe system is still performed only by steady-state now. The unsteady now analysis can be done by using the results of this analysis. Full article

Electro-optically induced refractive-index change in regular and reverse-poled LiTaO3 has been calculated. Specifically we determine how index change depends on electric field magnitude and direction for y-propagating extra-ordinary modes. To accomplish this, changes in index-ellipsoid shape and orientation are found by the use of a numerical eigenvalue procedure to diagonalize the impermeability tensor; then the refractive index is calculated by the use of a vector reference-frame transformation and a small perturbation approximation. A general formula is inferred from calculations for specific field directions. Electro-optic coefficienls for reserve-poled LiTaO3 are obtained by application of a tensor reference-frame transloilnation to those of LiTaO3. Full article

An object-oriented design and implementation of a primal-dual algorithm for solving the semidefinite programming problem is pn~sented. The advantages of applying the object-oriented methodology to numerical computations, in particular to an interior point algorithm for semidefinite programming, or for solving other types of linear matrix inequalities are discussed. One object-oriented design of the primal-dual algorithm and its implementation using C++ is presented. The performance of the C++ implementation is compared with that of a procedural C implementation, and while the performance of the C++ implementation is comparable to that of the C implementation, the resulting code is easier to read, modify, and maintain.
