Dear Colleagues,
Oxidative stress is involved in the pathogenesis of several aging-related diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. Excessive reactive oxygen (ROS) levels, due to an imbalance in ROS production and its detoxification, cause damage to macromolecules altering various signaling pathways and cell metabolism. While preclinical studies have demonstrated the therapeutic potential of antioxidants, the lack of consistent clinical evidence has driven research toward a new generation of therapeutic approaches. Nanotherapy has emerged as a promising approach for mitigating oxidative stress and its associated effects, thereby offering advantages including targeted delivery, enhanced bioavailability and antioxidant activity, and improved therapeutic efficacy, which minimize side effects. Nanotherapeutics, derived by engineering synthetic and natural nanomaterials, include different molecules such as nanoparticles, nanoemulsions, dendrimers and bioactive cell-secreted nanoparticles like extracellular vesicles.
As the Guest Editors, we invite you to contribute to the Special Issue on “Antioxidant Nano-Therapies for Aging-Related Diseases” with original research papers and reviews that focus on nanotherapeutics as an emerging and promising treatment strategy to counteract oxidative stress-related disease.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Antioxidants is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
