24–26 September 2024, Cancún, Mexico
The 23rd International Conference on Intelligent Methodologies, Tools, and Techniques

The SOMET conference highlights and reflects the state-of-the-art and new trends in software methodologies, tools, and techniques. You are invited to participate to help build a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences, in order to foster new directions in software development methodologies and related tools and techniques. This conference is focused on exploring innovations, controversies, and challenges facing the software engineering community today. The conference brings together theory and experience to propose and evaluate solutions to software engineering problems. The conference also provides a forum and an opportunity to assess the current state-of-the-art in intelligent software techniques and to chart software science initiated from experience to theory. This conference is an opportunity for us in the software science community to think about where we are today and where we are going.

The SOMET 2024 will be held in the Regional Development and Liaison Center (CVDR) of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (IPN), located on Boulevard Kukulkan Km 12.5, Torre A Zona Hotelera 77500 Cancún Q. R. Mexico.

Cancún City

Cancún is a world-class resort in Mexico on the Caribbean coastline, with many outstanding stretches of white sandy beaches, world-class restaurants, attractions, accommodation, and shopping complexes. Many of the tourist attractions in general are based around the Zona Hotelera (the Hotel Zone), which is connected to Cancún by the four-lane Kukulcán Boulevard, a major thoroughfare. There are a lot of beaches (playas) in Cancún, with some of the best including Ballenas, Caracol, Delfines, Langosta, Las Perlas, Linda, Marlin, and Tortugas; there are also plenty more nearby, on the scenic coastline of the Isla Mujeres.

Being a major coastal resort with a superb selection of beaches, it will come as no surprise that many of the main tourist attractions are based around Cancún's beautiful coastline. All kinds of water sports are available here, such as scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, jet skiing, and even parasailing, high in the air, where the views across Cancún and the Caribbean Sea are simply awe-inspiring. Sailing, yachting, and dolphin-spotting cruises are also extremely popular in Cancún, and it is possible to swim with dolphins at the nearby Isla Mujeres.

Cancún also has a strong and important Mayan past, with two main sites of Mayan remains. Centro Ceremonial Kohunlich is of great historical significance and features an ancient Mayan Sun Temple. Chichén Itzá, with the famous El Castillo (the Temple of Kukulcan) at its centre, and the ruins of the 13th-century Zona Arqueológica El Rey (El Rey Archaeological Zone), are also located close to Cancún, which are best explored on a guided tour. For art lovers, Cancún also offers plenty of reputable galleries around the city, including a number along the Kukulcán Boulevard.

Cancún can be reached via daily direct flights from several US cities, as well as direct flights from the following 20 European cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Birmingham, Bristol, Brussels, Doncaster, Edinburgh, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Lisbon, London, Munich, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Newcastle, Paris, Rome, and Zürich. Cancun can also be reached from most Asian capitals via a connecting flight in the USA.
