Electrical Engineering Design

A section of Designs (ISSN 2411-9660).

Section Information

Designs is a peer-reviewed, open access journal which provides a unifying research framework for a wide range of engineering designs of disciplines and industrial applications, including electrical engineering. While electrical engineering as a discipline has been with us for more than a hundred years, the innovative and multi-disciplinary design thinking behind it has produced exponential growth in its sub-fields, leading to revolutionary applications which far exceeded the expectations of the previous generation of scholars and engineers. An example is how the search for new ways to control the flow of electric currents led the invention of semiconductor electronics, which in turn led to the whole new area of information and communication technologies, which is currently affecting our daily lives in the form of 5G smartphones and internet of things. Another example is the electrification of road transportation, which is looming on the horizon in the form of modern full-electric vehicles. The latter is made possible by the new designs of battery packs, permanent magnet motors, and power electronic converters.

This section is devoted to present the new technologies, trends, and breakthroughs in electrical engineering designs, to advance the processing of electrical power and digital information. We would be very interested in original and new research results regarding electrical engineering designs, as well as in their diverse applications. Thus, manuscripts on planning, design, implementation, theoretical studies, economical and viability studies, as well as on their applications to traditional and novel scenarios are solicited. Submissions addressing reviews and surveys will also be welcomed.
