Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Medical activity is defined by four essential elements: prevention, diagnosis, treatment and the treatment of complications. These elements should be interpreted from the perspective of the doctor–patient relationship and the need to ensure a correct framework for the provision of medical services within the legislative limits enforced, guaranteeing the correctness of the medical intervention and the safety of the patient who is the beneficiary of health services. These two components are the foundation for building an effective relationship between these two actors, which is based on prevention applied through healthcare strategies and policies, but also on correct knowledge and the correct interpretation of legislation. It is also important to manage the resources used in the healthcare sector correctly, in terms of their optimisation and efficient use (material, human and time resources) from the point of view of correct diagnosis applied to the foundations of healthcare systems. At the same time, we introduce the importance and correctness of the treatment applied in the sense of identifying efficient methods and innovative technologies capable of improving the provision of health services, and limiting the vulnerability of the doctor and their patient. Furthermore, new technological developments in the dental field, digital ones, starting from treatment planning and case acceptance to the predictability of the final outcome of the treatment, are topics of interest that have to be analysed and require further research work.

In proposing this Special Issue, we would like to encourage both, researchers and clinicians to submit original research articles, review articles, and communications on dental medicine diagnosis and management.

I would be honored to collaborate with you in this project.

Yours sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Silviu Mirel Pițuru
