2019 The inaugural issue was released. Forecasting was published as a quarterly journal.
2020

Forecasting established the following sections:

  • Power and Energy Forecasting;
  • Forecasting in Economics and Management;
  • Forecasting in Computer Science;
  • Weather and Forecasting;
  • Environmental Forecasting.

Forecasting announced the 2020 PhD Thesis Award.

2021

Forecasting announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Award.
Forecasting was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).

2022

Forecasting was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
Forecasting announced the first edition of the Best Paper Award.

2023

Forecasting received its first Impact Factor (3.0).
Forecasting received its first CiteScore (2022) of 4.0, ranked 4/23 (Q1) in "Decision Sciences (Miscellaneous)", 34/207 (Q1) in "Economics, Econometrics and Finance (miscellaneous)", 46/165 (Q2) in "Computational Theory and Mathematics" and 326/792 (Q2) in "Computer Science Applications". 

2024

Forecasting received its 2023 Impact Factor (2.3), 2023 5-Year Impact Factor (2.3), ranked 47/134(Q2) in “Multidisciplinary Sciences”.

Forecasting received its 2023 CiteScore (5.8), ranked 3/25(Q1) in "Decision Sciences (miscellaneous)"; 31/242(Q1) in "Economics, Econometrics and Finance (miscellaneous)"; 33/176(Q1) in "Computational Theory and Mathematics"; 261/817(Q2) in "Computer Science Applications"
