Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Gastric cancer remains a global health challenge; it is one of the most common malignancies and has one of the highest mortality rates. Commonly, by the time of diagnosis, gastric cancer has already reached an advanced stage. Its asymptomatic nature makes early diagnosis a challenging endeavor, and it is therefore imperative to explore novel diagnostic approaches. The landscape of gastric cancer research is rapidly increasing, focusing on diagnostic modalities, including liquid biopsies and molecular biomarkers with promising results and increased specificity and sensitivity. In tandem with diagnostic innovations, modern medicine has also achieved remarkable progress in therapeutic strategies, encompassing targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and personalized treatment approaches. The integration of these cutting-edge developments has the potential to reshape the management of gastric cancer, offering new hope for patients and clinicians alike. It not only promises to enhance the quality of life of those affected by gastric cancer, but also offers new possibilities in the quest for improved outcomes and, ultimately, a cure. As the boundaries of medical science continue to expand, the outlook for gastric cancer patients brightens, and the path toward a brighter, healthier future becomes increasingly promising.
