Investigation and Bio-Medical Application of Injectable Hydrogels

Dear Colleagues,

Hydrogels are three-dimensional polymeric networks absorbing a significant amount of water or biological fluids. Because of their good biocompatibility, flexible methods of synthesis, broad range of constitutes, and adjustable gel properties, hydrogels have shown great potential for biomedical applications, such as tissue engineering, drug delivery, skin repair, 3D cell culture, prevention of postoperative adhesion, etc. In particular, injectable hydrogels that allow for in situ formation at the administration site using chemical or physical stimuli as triggers have received increased attention in view of their merits of convenient administration and minimally invasive application.

This Special Issue will focus on recent progress in the field of injectable hydrogels, including design and synthesis of new injectable hydrogels, relationship of polymer architecture and in situ gelation properties, and their various biomedical applications. Researchers in these fields are, therefore, warmly invited to propose relevant reviews, perspectives, and research papers to be published in this Special Issue of Molecules.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
