Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Crystallization is a type of self-assembly that is commonly utilized by organic or inorganic species in nature to form structures for specific functions. Crystal assembly via crystallization of polymers leads to orderly patterned aggregates, sometimes with peculiar periodicity.  Polymer self-assembly is a low cost, low pollution technology which is also easy to handle, making it an effective method to fabricate polymer materials with well-defined structures and morphologies. Such assembled materials find applications in many fields such as nanomaterials, nanomedicine, lithography, and microelectronics. Crystallization is the general behavior of stereoregular polymers; hence, it can be efficiently used to manipulate non-covalent interactions as well as self-assembly pathways and assembly structures of polymers in solids and solutions. Crystallization-driven self-assembly has been widely applied to semi-crystalline homopolymers, block copolymers, and end-functionalized polymers. Therefore, this Special Issue aims to provide a platform for academic exchange to scholars working in the field of crystallization and other related domains. Any original work or review article on polymer self-assembly and crystallization is welcome.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
