Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to publish your latest research results in this Special Issue titled “Dynamic Modelling and Simulation of Wind Energy Conversion Systems”.
Over the past decade, wind power capacity has seen explosive growth at a global level, reaching over 900 gigawatts thanks to both onshore and offshore installations. This surge has solidified wind energy’s position as a leading source of clean and competitive renewable energy around the world. Technological advances and continued investment in infrastructure promise a significant increase in wind power capacity in the future. However, it is worth mentioning that wind power remains dependent on site wind potential and relies on equipment performance for efficient energy conversion.
A key challenge for wind power is maximizing on-site renewable potential use by increasing energy conversion efficiency. Recent years have seen a surge in innovative solutions for wind turbines, including counter-rotating wind rotors able to extract more energy from the wind, high-performance gearboxes which consider efficient planetary transmissions, more compact and efficient electric generators including counter-rotating generator designs and large-capacity wind turbines with multiple smaller rotors. Beyond these advancements, researchers also intensively study the integration of wind turbines within the built environment. Ultimately, the goal of researchers and designers is to develop affordable, efficient, reliable, stable, and smart wind turbines, meeting the demands of the current market.
This Special Issue seeks to showcase cutting-edge research and upcoming trends in wind turbine technology, with a special focus on the knowledge development of their dynamic behaviour. We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Innovative design and dynamic optimization: advancements in wind turbine structures, materials, and configurations to improve performance and efficiency.
- Dynamic modeling and numerical simulation: research studies using advanced software tools to predict and analyze wind turbine behavior are highly encouraged.
- Intelligent control: smart control systems that optimize energy capture and turbine operation.
- Reliability and maintenance: research on improving wind turbine reliability and developing efficient maintenance strategies is encouraged.
- Wind energy conversion efficiency: this focuses on maximizing the amount of electricity generated from wind resources.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
