Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This call for papers invites contributions to a special issue focusing on "Technology and Energy Transition for Sustainable Cities." As cities worldwide face unprecedented challenges due to climate change and urbanization, the role of technology in driving energy transitions becomes increasingly critical. This issue aims to explore innovative technological solutions and strategies for achieving sustainable urban energy systems.

We seek papers that address various aspects of this theme, including but not limited to smart grid technologies, renewable energy integration, energy-efficient urban design, and policy frameworks supporting sustainable energy transitions. Contributions may also explore the social, economic, and environmental impacts of technological advancements in urban energy systems.

The special issue encourages submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, urban planning, environmental science, policy studies, and economics. We aim to compile a diverse collection of research articles, case studies, and reviews that offer novel insights and practical approaches to navigating the complex landscape of urban energy transitions.

This issue will provide a platform for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and identify pathways towards more sustainable and resilient urban energy futures.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
