Sustainable Energy Policy and Structural Energy Reforms

Dear Colleagues,

As the material basis of human production and life, energy is very important. At present, the utilization of human energy has developed into a sustainable development that balances ’energy, economy, and environment. From the perspective of long-term development, it is of great significance to promote the optimization and adjustment of energy structure for sustainable development.

Irrational energy structure leads to low efficiency and high energy consumption, and ultimately leads to outstanding ecological environment problems. This is a departure from the widely accepted concept of sustainable development. It is necessary to accelerate the adjustment and optimization of energy structure, and to advance the energy structural reforms. The key role sustainable energy development has reached a consensus, and priority is being given to the development of high-quality techniques for traditional energy sources and the transition to renewable, low-pollution energy sources. This Special Issue calls for a deeper discussion about energy policies that contribute to energy structural reforms for sustainable development. The aim is to create a collection of rigorous research articles that explore, and make proposals of, which energy transition policies may support sustainable energy development.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Analyzing energy policy for sustainable development;
• Impacts of energy policies on sustainable energy development;
• Conceptualizing proper energy transition policies;
• Energy transition and sustainable development;
• Energy structure adjustment and optimization;
• Policy analysis for structural energy reforms.
