ASV 2017

ASV President, Rebecca Dutch, the Officers, Councilors, Committee Members, and the local organizing committee headed by Kristen Bernard and Paul Friesen of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, invite you to participate in the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Virology being held at the beautiful Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
The 2017 ASV scientific program will include symposia, five (5) satellite symposia; concurrent workshops and poster sessions on a wide range of virology topics; and special educational presentations punctuated by collegial mixers and social events and a showcase of exhibitors. The meeting begins Saturday morning, June 24th at 8:30 a.m. with the five satellite symposia and kicks off with the Welcome Reception at 3:30 pm. The Keynote Address will be presented from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and the first group of simultaneous workshop sessions will follow beginning at 7:00 pm. Note: The deadline for submission of abstracts is 11:59 p.m. EST on February 1, 2017.


Madison and the University of Wisconsin
Madison, with its four picturesque lakes in southern Wisconsin, offers and excellent range of cultural and recreational opportunities. The Monona Terrace Convention Center is located on the shores of Lake Monona, two blocks from the State Capitol and downtown attractions (museums, shopping and brewpubs). This amazing, multi-level structure designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is an architectural gem, and providing for the entire scientific program sessions, dining and the banquet to take place in this single, convenient location.


Registration Deadlines
May 19, 2017 at 11:59 pm EST deadline for EARLY registration fees; May 20, 2017 – June 16, 2017 registration fees increase for all registrants; June 17, 2017 through on-site a LATE REGISTRATION FEE ($75) is assessed for all registrations which may only be made on-site.


Accommodations
On-campus residence hall accommodations are available online through the conference website from January 3rd through June 1st. A number of rooms have also been blocked at local hotels.
