Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The review manuscript “The plant viruses and molecular farming: How beneficial they might be for human and animal health?” by Zahmanova et al  submitted to IJMS deals with very important nowadays topic  as the use of plant viruses in molecular farming with benefits to human and animal health. The authors did very extensive review in the advances in that area (269 references). The manuscript is well structured and will be of very high importance for the scientific community. Overall the manuscript deserves to be published in the present form and I would like to congratulate the authors for the well performed work.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you very much for your review report and your high appreciation of our work.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript introduced the virus-like nanoparticle-based technologies in plants, and their application in drug delivery and nanomedicine. Overall, this manuscript is well-written, and has some scientific contribution.

However, some minor revisions are needed before accept for publication in International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

Minor revisions:

  1. Combine 2 and 1 to the introduction part.
  2. Combine 6 and 7 as “Application of plant VNPs for delivering bioactive cargos”.
  3. Combine the two paragraphs in 3.1 to one.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you very much for your review report. All comments and suggestions are taken into account.

  1.  Part 2 was combined with 1  and became part of the introduction.
  2.  6 and 7 were combined as  “Application of plant VNPs for delivering bioactive cargos”.
  3. The second paragraph in 3.1 was combined with the first.
