This review focuses on the role of a specific MDR protein, ABCG2, in AML and summarize the the current knowledge on the impact of its expression and polymorphisms on disease outcome and possibility to improve the efficacy of anti-leukemic therapies. This comprehensive review article is informative and meaningful for hematologists.

The review article describes the role of the ABCG2 protein responsible for inducing multidrug resistance in acute myeloid leukemia cells. Summarizing the knowledge so far may provide new strategies to overcome the negative effect of ABCG2 overexpression. The topic of the article is appropriate for the journal and the Special issue.
The manuscript can be improved by adding a discussion part with comments and suggestions for future therapies.
There are many grammatical and typing errors that should be corrected before the final acceptance of the paper.

The paper has been extensively revised to improve readability and correct typos.
Most of the discussion section is dedicated to a possibile future role of ABCG2 inhibition or modulation to improve outcome of AML patients, even if, to date, many questions remain to be answered.
