Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript Adapting a PROARR Artificial Reef Project Based in the Galician Estuaries to the Principles of the Circular Economy is suitable for publication in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, only requires some changes.

  1. Please, improve the Methodology. Add section (methodology section) and summarize the steps to follow to establish efficient management systems such as green artificial reefs (GAR)
  2. The authors have to convince the reader what the result means, why it is important, what it contributes to existing research. What the Methodological, empirical or conceptual contribution. The motivation for the study is insufficiently explained.
  3. Explain Figure 4
  4. The authors have need to discuss the findings and their contribution at the knowledge and it's important to understand the international perspective of the journal.

Comment 1. Please, improve the Methodology. Add section (methodology section) and summarize the steps to follow to establish efficient management systems such as green artificial reefs (GAR).

We have created a section about methodology and another one about results and discussion.

Comment 2. The authors have to convince the reader what the result means, why it is important, what it contributes to existing research. What the Methodological, empirical or conceptual contribution. The motivation for the study is insufficiently explained.

We have modified the objectives emphasizing why this study is important and its contribution to existing research. We have included the motivation in the introduction section, thousands of tons of shell waste are produced per year in Galicia. These residues can be re-utilized to build sustainable artificial reefs.

Comment 3. Explain Figure 4.

We have explained Figure 4 (now it is Figure 3).

Comment 4. The authors have need to discuss the findings and their contribution at the knowledge and it's important to understand the international perspective of the journal.

We have modified the conclusions including what Reviewer 1 asks for in this comment.
