Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The research focuses on the influence of ESG, SRI, ethical, and impact investing activities on portfolio and financial performance.

The topic is both unique and timely in the area, as it presents a bibliometric study of the most recent trends and significant topics in socially responsible investment as well as environmental, social, and governance issues. Additionally, it lists the most prominent writers and publications in this discipline. The study fills a unique vacuum in the area by advising managers, legislators, and policymakers on the impact of ESG, SRI, and ethical and impact investments on financial and portfolio performance.

The research technique is extensive and objective. To establish more links between revealed sub-themes, the authors might use a number of retrieval strategies, such as more relevant searches and constructing networks of term co-occurrence and bibliographical couplings with looser threshold settings.

The findings are in accordance with the data and arguments offered, and they address the fundamental question raised. As some of the contributing elements, the research finds the top journals, authors, countries, keywords, and most significant publications on this subject. This analysis revealed three major streams: ESG, SRI, ethical investment, and impact investing. The ESG, SRI, and performance connection topics were divided into four categories on the thematic map.

The references are relevant and suited to the study subject.

However...

The authors may consider giving more thorough information on the study methods, such as the particular criteria used to evaluate the papers and the method used to choose the final dataset.

The authors should think about giving more specific information on the research's limitations, such as the possibility of bias in the data set and the generality of the findings.

The authors could consider giving more specific information on the research's practical consequences, such as how managers, policymakers, and legislators might apply the results to enhance financial and portfolio performance.

The authors should consider giving more extensive information on future research directions in this discipline, such as prospective areas for additional exploration and present research restrictions.

The quality of the English language is reasonable and meets the requirements of the journal's editorial guidelines.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors,

Overall, the paper provides a good overview of the research topic and the methodology used. However, there are a few suggestions to improve the clarity and flow of the paper:

1.       The paper should clearly state the objective of the study. Instead of saying the study aimed to determine the "latest trends, key themes, authors, and influential journals," it would be helpful to specify the purpose in terms of the research question or hypothesis being addressed.

2.       The paper mentions that a bibliometric analysis was employed, but it would be beneficial to briefly explain what this analysis involved. Readers should have a general understanding of how the data was analyzed and what insights were gained.

3.       The paper mentions the classification of themes into four categories, but it doesn't provide specific details about the findings within each category. It would be helpful to briefly summarize the main findings or emerging patterns observed in the study.

4.       The paper briefly mentions "vital practical implications," but it would be beneficial to provide a bit more information about these implications. What are some of the key takeaways or recommendations that can be drawn from the study?

5.       The paper mentions that a total of 260 articles were chosen for the bibliometric analysis, but it would be useful to specify the sample size in relation to the total number of articles initially identified (1377) and the criteria used for selection.

Overall, the paper provides a solid overview of the research study, but there is room for improvement in terms of sentence structure, terminology clarification, flow, and clarity of findings.

Reviewer 3 Report

The article presented by the authors is very interesting. The research methodology and the recorded conclusions are consistent. Accurately presented chronology of writing the article. It's consistent. The bibliography is up to date. A proper review of the research to date.

In the abstract, the research problem and hypothesis should be written in detail. The reader must know what he is reading and what he expects from the authors.
