Author Response

We would like to thank you for taking so much time reviewing our article in detail. Your valuable comments and desired changes encourage deeper discussions in our interdisciplinary research team to improve the proposed focus and clarity of the paper. This we appreciate very much.

In detail, we delete Circular Economy from the title of the paper as well as we rewrote the abstract, the conclusions and some text (under 2. 1 to 2.4) and two of the three figures dealing with the circular economy. As proposed we just took the last figure from Fehr 2019 and focused on our research topic.

As demanded, we included our research questions and -derived from there- the hypothesis for the research project we did together and state, that this paper deals with the first two of them.

Regarding the methodologies being used, we clarified the different approaches by adding a figure derived from our research (the amount of organic household and garden waste (OHW) in the different seasons of the year and the different locations in the City of Marneuli). This explains 57% on average for OHW and the possibility to look for a separate collection and composting of OHW.

More clearly in the chapters of results and discussion the stakeholders are addressed to show their part of responsibilities and willingness to participate in the innovation of separate collection, composting and usage.

A professional spell-check was done.

Although the rewriting was an intensive process for all authors included, we are very thankful for your comments to improve the paper.

This is an interesting and original article for the city of Marneuli in Georgia. The subject of the article is very important for the city but significance of content is low for global problem CE. The research is interesting and the conclusions clearly formulated. This article is recommendable.

Author Response

Thank you very much for reviewing our research paper without further comments.

Waste management in the context of circular economy is an important and timely research topic. The quality of the presentation is very good and the reading of this text was highly educational for me.

I have only one comment: I'm not sure I fully understand the first conclusion related to "a significant increase in inefficiency". Isn't it the opposite?

Author Response

Thank you for reviewing our research paper.

Your comment was very valuable for us because it was really the opposite way as written. So thanks for your comment.

As proposed, we did second proofreading because we had to change some parts of the publication to be more focused on the research questions.

The revised manuscript is substantially improved.  The addition of a clearer goal and research questions definitely help to identify the scope of this manuscript.  There are still some sentences with awkward English that should be reviewed and improved at somepoint i the next steps of processing this manuscript
