Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper presents the results of research addressing the fundamental problem of erosion. It monitors the influence of various materials stabilizing the surface of sloping land and thus better application of sowing. I highly appreciate the results in this regard. They are the result of a technically demanding experiment. However, I have several comments on the processing. They are listed directly in the attached text of the file. It concerns the processing of the abstract and the conclusions, which in my opinion are general and need to be specified in the direction of the results obtained. However, I think this is a technical matter and does not reduce the quality of the experiment. After editing, I recommend publishing.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors investigated the plant adaptation on difficult terrain. They focused on the protective roles in relation to the plants. They found the reason why seedlings often died in the initial stage. They stated that the application of new protective fabrics including bird feathers can be a remedy. It was also reported that manufacturing fabrics have many advantages. The study is well conducted and the methods used are appropriate. The data is presented clearly. The findings will be of interest to ecological engineers as well as researchers in the field.

I have the following minor concerns.

1) P.1 L.13 and P.2 L.98 In these long sentences I think that "washes out seeds, soil and transfers" should be revised by "washes out seeds and soil, it transfers."

2) P.1 L.20 As the subject in this long sentence is plural "fabrics," the verb "has" should be revised by "have."

3) P.2 L.73 to L.77, L.93 to L.96, and P.5 L.209 to L.212 A paragraph usually consists of at least 3 or 4 sentences. However, these paragraphs have only one sentence. They should be integrated into other paragraphs or need a few more sentences.

4) P.4 L.177 The author should improve the structure of section "2. Materials and Methods." A few subsections, such as 2.1. Characteristics of the Study Site and 2.2. Experiment Overview, etc. should be described.

5) P.5 L.208 In view of Table 1 it is unclear how to observe and calculate the values in terms of "mixture." A more description is warranted.

6) P.6 L.260  The author should improve the structure of section "3. Results." A couple of subsections, such as 3.1. Solution Application Area, 3.2. Water Capacity, 3.3. Soil Moisture Content, and 3.4. Soil Sodding, etc., should be described.

7) P.7 L.314 This is a typographical error. In view of Table 4 "three" should be revised to "four."

8) P.12 L.506 "Appendix B" should be revised to "Appendix," which should be cited in the main text.

Reviewer 3 Report

I suggest the authors to present the technological process of making non-woven geotextiles (production of the web layer, bonding technique and possible finishing).
