Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript is interesting and well presented. I am not clear of its orinality and novelty, the authors should explain in introduction.

also, why the specific region is studies must be explained.

In conclusions, useful findings should be presented.

Reviewer 2 Report

  • I have read the manuscript “ecological-economic Modeling of Traditional Agroforestry to Promote Farmland Biodiversity with Cost-Effective Payments” with interest and found that Nishizawa and co-workers have comprehensively compiled very good information on the Ecological-Economic Modeling of Traditional Agroforestry and carefully wrote it to be free of errors.
  • The first point of presenting research is to describe or summarize some key issues which are currently going on. Of course, this is a very interesting and important cue for promoting farmland biodiversity with cost-effective payments. On the other hand, it is present, throughout the manuscript, a clear fil-rouge of investigation and review. Also, referring to the current gap in research in this area is generally one of the strong points of the manuscript.
  • It is well-written, and the topic and content are of interest to many readers of Sustainability. The current paper is as per the need of the hour and under the scope of Sustainability, the vision of the manuscript is clear and the data interpretation is OK. Although, some minor revisions for fixing grammatical errors and English improvements are still needed to present the manuscript in a more attractive manner. A critical cross-checking of references and their formatting according to journal style is still required, which should be addressed before the paper is considered for publication:
