Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript is very interesting and brings a new perspective for the described topic, but some issues are needed to be addressed before considering the publication, please correct:

-          Try not to use “we” form etc., it makes that the work does not sound scientific,

-          In line 42 there is a reference name in the brackets, if yes please unify all of the references with the requirements of the journal,

-          Please try to described the method used for the literature review in the introduction section as it is in the abstract,

-          Please try to described more the main background of the research in the introduction, its quite short actually, please you can use the following sources or use it later in the appropriate sections:

https://www.mdpi.com/1996-1073/15/1/142

-          Line 73, please summarize how many articles summaries did you read, because almost 2700 is a lot, but you used some filters,

-          Please define and describe how did you find out that the central part of the article is about urban sustainable transportation,

-          Please try to make a graph describing the methodology, it always gives the reader better perspective and make the base of the research clearer,

-          Please increase the font size in Figure 1,

-          The Figure 1 description should be better described, eg. Number of publications related to sustain…..

-          Please try to avoid text breaking like lines 116 , 123, make from this  eg. Subchapters;

-          Please increase the font size in Figure 2,

-          The same as for the Figure 1 there is an issue with Figure 2 with the description, change the name of the figure to be more precise,

-          Increase the font size for Figure 3 and change the name,

-          Increase the size of Figure 4,

-          Lines 223-226 why are you using capital letters?

-          Correct actually all of the figures names,

-          In the literature review you can also use the following source: https://doi.org/10.20858/sjsutst.2017.95.10

-          Figure 11 with this size is unreadable,

-          Figure 14 as above,

-          Figure 15 as above,

-          Based on the presented results of findings which are great and significant, please expand a conclusion section accordingly.

The work brings new perspective on described topic but first the manuscript needs to be corrected accordingly to the above mentioned issues. Thank you.

Reviewer 2 Report

The topic of this paper is interesting and relevant and can help summarize research trends in a meaningful manner. The paper is also well-written.

Comments:

I am not sure that Figure 7 and the preceding discussion referencing names adds much to the manuscript.

Figures 4, 8, 11, 15 are hard to read due to the background interfering with the letters.

The study could benefit by improving the key theme areas, treating the section as a possibility to summarize research directions with key studies. For instance:

The study slightly touches the key research area on electric public transport networks, a topic which is a main driver of sustainable urban transportation. See for instance following:

Iliopoulou, C., & Kepaptsoglou, K. (2021). Robust electric transit route network design problem (RE-TRNDP) with delay considerations: Model and application. Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies129, 103255.

In general, electromobility is not discussed in the context of public transport or electric scooters and e-bikes. Electric scooters should be mentioned as they have been on the rise and have attracted a lot of research attention, e.g.:

Hardt, C., & Bogenberger, K. (2019). Usage of e-scooters in urban environments. Transportation research procedia37, 155-162.
