Round 1

The traditional heating system and the improved phase change heating system were simulated in the whole heating period in Xi 'an based on the TRNSYS simulation platform. A great significance for the iteration of ecological environment and energy was shown in this investigation.  But I still believe that the following issues need to be elaborated on in detail.

1:In Part “2. Concept of the system”, What is the direct difference between SASHP and ASHP? As pumps, there should be a certain difference between the two pumps.

2: In Lines 61, COP needs to provide a specific description of its meaning when it first appears.

3:Which material does PCM specifically refer to in this article? Please provide a specific description or explanation?

4:Lines 55-57, Related description need strong references (â‘  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcis.2022.12.160 â‘¡https://doi.org/10.1007/s11053-023-10202-7 â‘¢https://doi.org/10.1007/s11356-023-26279-9 )as supporting basis.

5: In Figure 9, Within the time interval of 15 to 17 hours, the difference between the two curves is relatively small. Can you provide a reasonable explanation?

This article conducts a simulation study on a new type of solar air source heat pump heating system based on phase change heat storage, and compares and analyzes the results from three aspects: collector efficiency, heat pump unit performance, and water tank temperature.

Some advices are given:

1.The operational performance parameters of the air source heat pump components in trnsys differs significantly from the current mainstream equipment operational performance parameters, and it is recommended to optimize it.

2.Laying a certain thickness of phase change material on the side wall of the heat storage tank, although it does not occupy the internal volume of the heat storage tank, will increase the overall volume of the heat storage tank. This is contrary to the current idea of reducing the volume of the energy storage tank, and there is no explanation for this method of storing more heat.

3.The verification section for the simulation should be added to make the simulation results more reliable.

The English writing should be improved.

This paper presents an improved solar air source heat pump (SASHP) heating system based on phase change heat storage and compared with the traditional solar air source heat pump heating system before the transformation. This manuscript could be accepted after minor revision. My suggestion are:

1.      Please add a nomenclature.

2.      The unit in Table 1 should be consistent.

3.      In section 2.1, reference materials should be given to support your choice of the key contents.

4.      It is really hard to follow your Fig.8 and Fig.10.

5.      The model is not validated.

It is fine

The manuscript entitled "Simulation study of a novel solar air-source heat pump heating system based on phase change heat storage" has been investigated in detail. The topic addressed in the manuscript is potentially interesting and the manuscript contains some practical meaning, however, there are some issues which should be addressed by the authors:

1.     The readibility and presentation of the study should be further improved.

2.     The "Abstract" section of the manuscript is not well organized. The "Abstract" section can be made much more impressive by highlighting your contributions.

3.     The main contributions of the study should be clearly explained in both Teoretical and Practical aspects.

4.     The authors should clearly emphasize the contribution of the study. Please note that the up-to-date of references will contribute to the up-to-date of your manuscript. The studies related with machine learning approaches named-investigation of power quality disturbances by using digital currency time series prediction based on financial signal processing, ant colony optimization and machine learning techniques, ayrıştırma yöntemlerinin derin öÄŸrenme algoritması ile tanımlanan rüzgâr hızı tahmin modeli baÅŸarımına etkisinin incelenmesi-can be used to explain the method in the study or to indicate the contribution in the “Introduction” section.

5.     It will be helpful to the readers if some discussions about insight of the main results are added as Remarks.

In case the proposed arrangements are made, I can recommend the study to be published in the journal.

In my opinion, minor editing of English language required.

In the abstract it should be, ... a traditional solar air source heat pump heating system  improved by phase change heating system.

Various values of loss coefficients were chosen Line no. 128, 129 - What is the rationale for this selection?

Though the discussion on PCM is sufficient it could be enhanced with a discussion on economics of PCM and also about the storage stability of MA especially with water in a colsed vessel.

50m2 is types as 50m2 in the line no. 157.

Fig 10 illustrates the function of PCM in a typical month perhaps day wise PCM functioning could be added to demonstrate the effectiveness of the PCM system even during the coldest day (if any)
