Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this paper, the Authors carried out an analysis of three (Ficus altissima) on thermal comfort impact on climate of seven sites.

Results section is well detailed, including all the monitored data (air temperature, humidity, air velocity, and so on), as well as the discussion section where a correlation between PET and monitored parameters was attempted.

In my humble opinion, the introduction and methodology sections should be improved. I suggest 1) highlighting the differences with other previous works, 2) underlining the novelties of the work, 3) pointing out the scientific contribution, 4) remarking why it is important investigated this topic.

About the material and methods, I suggest reporting 1) the instruments characteristics, 2) experimental investigation schedule, 3) pictures and scheme (in addition to figure 1).

In my humble opinion, the Authors should improve and remark more in deep the novelties and scientific contribution of the paper maybe also reporting the limitations of the work and future development and activities.

Finally, I would suggest checking symbol “-“ within the words in all the paper.

Best Regards

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your specific and valuable comments. We have carefully read and taken into account all your comments and have made changes together with other reviewers' suggestions. All changes in the article are marked with a yellow background and the main changes are as follows:

1 The significance, contribution, importance, and innovation of the research topic have been added at the end of Chapter 1 (Intruduction), i.e., after the target paragraph.

2 In Chapter 2 (Materials and Methods), an experimental investigation schedule (Table 1) is added to Subsection 2, and the content of the corresponding article in the Subsection is also adjusted with the table. In subsection 3, field measurement instrument statistics are added to increase the reader's understanding of experimental materials and methods, and the content of the article is supplemented with explanations of each of the three major types of instruments in three paragraphs.

3 At the end of Chapter 5 (Conclusions), the limitations of the study and the outlook are added.

4 All symbols, including the symbol "-" and others, have been checked and revised as appropriate.

5 All Latin names of plants have been italicized.

6 The entire text has been combed and linguistically touched up.

We appreciate for Reviewers’ warm work earnestly, and hope that the correction will meet with approval. Should you have any questions, please contact us without hesitate.

Reviewer 2 Report

I think the manuscript can be published after minor revision after addressing the following issues:

- in the text there are many words written with a hyphen (-) in the middle which is not needed, please revise

- latin names of species should be in italic

- a proper study limitations section should be added to discussion

For the rest it is an interesting contribution on a topic extensively investigated in the literature with a case-study approach but Authors justified in a clear way their reasons in building such experimental design and I have nothing against

Reviewer 3 Report

The paper is presenting an interesting study on physical, physiological, and climatic parameters that were obtained for Ficus altissima in lower subtropical China during the winter conditions. It is a complete work and timely research with extensive literature review and comprehensive analyses providing new contributions to the body of knowledge in the associated field.

All the suggestions were taken into account by the Authors, and they also answered to all my points.

I would like to only recommend using a more formal language
