Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This study introduces a GIS-supported methodology that combines multiple linear regressions with hazard ratio models to quantify and map the impacts of regional transport policies on air pollution and human health. And the study ensures the applicability of this approach to multiple regional case studies and future updates, providing output in both quantitative and visual form. Overall, the paper provides a valuable contribution to the field of transportation research and policy making. A few minor comments are provided below.

-Page 1, Line 9-23: This paper uses WECA regions as illustrative cases to show potential applications and outcomes of the approach, which are suggested to be embodied in the abstract, and summarizes the results of the case study to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.

-Page 4, Line 146-153: Is the equation repeated here? It is suggested that the original text should be changed to “as shown in Equation (4)”.

-Page 5, Line 161: It is recommended that the title of Section 2.3.2 be consistent with its sibling.

-Page 7, Line 237: Please pay attention to the language, you should use “AQG” instead of “AQI” in the sentence “The figure also displays the health-advised air quality guidelines (AQI) recommended by WHO”.

-Page 9, Figure 4: "Error, Reference source not found" appears in the article, pay attention to check the reference. Please check the full text.

-There is an error in the title sequence number, and also pay attention to the grammar of the sentence. Please proofread the whole paper before re-submitting.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper focuses on suburban and rural mobility, introducing a GIS-supported methodology that combines multiple linear regressions with hazard ratio models to quantify and map the impacts of regional transport policies on air pollution and human health.

However, the title is too broad and does not effectively convey the key problem addressed in this paper. Additionally, there is no related work mentioned to demonstrate how this method improves upon existing methods or solves the problem more effectively. The presentation of your work alongside others' makes it difficult to distinguish which parts are yours.

In this paper, Health Impacts are dependent on four variables: Base Mortality, Emissions, Cycling impacts, and Collision-based mortality. However, these variables are only presented as average values without further explanation or analysis.

Section 3 includes some experiments but their results are obvious and do not support the ideas proposed in the abstract or title.

Furthermore, no example is provided to illustrate how these concepts can be achieved using QGIS software or any clear indication of potential applications for this research.

Lastly, there are numerous errors in both the references index and section numbers.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors,

I have thoroughly read your excellent article on the impact of transportation policy on air quality and public health. You have conducted a high-quality literature review, and there is no doubt about the quality of your text. I believe the article does not require significant alterations, but I do have a few questions/notes:

- line 236 - missing source (Error! Reference source not found.),

- some symbol in line 146 is marked as [?],

- table 3 (NO2 in caption vs. NOx in table),

- The conclusion has a wrong number (2).

- Am I understanding correctly that none of the scenarios considered the introduction of electric buses?

- Are you planning to develop a methodology for such modelling as well? Are you collaborating with the local government or governmental organizations there? If so, it would be good to mention it in the article.

I appreciate that you have described in detail the individual factors entering the model and also provided formulas for their calculation, which can be beneficial for other scientists.

Thank you.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript is well structured but has some grammatical errors and typos.

I recommend

1) emphasise the novelty of the research

2) include more commentary to accompany table 2

3) include the sources of the m appeals and images used

4) insert all acronyms in expanded form when they are first included in the text

5) justify the possible replicability of the methodology adopted

6) insert research limitations

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript still has some typos and grammatical errors. It should be noted that the suggested revisions were only partially implemented.

As yet, the novelty of the research has not been well highlighted.

Furthermore, starting from the various uses of QGIS it is recommended to write a preamble with a series of uses and then finalise this tool for one's own research. therefore we recommend reading the following research works
