Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper proposes a better optimization measure for the magnet pole fault. The magnet and damper coil model are built and analyzed accurately, at the same time, a large number of experiments are carried out. The paper has good innovation and significance. there are some questions need to be answered and modified.

1. The name of Fig.5 is not right and should be related to the distribution of fluxes.

2. In the formula (8), the α should be constants, so how can we determine them?

3. Formula (9) represents the damper coil becomes a power source and is connected in series with the resistor. In the paper, there is no figure can show the relationship, so it can be added to the Fig.10 and make the relationship clearer.

4. In part 2.2 of page 5, Why are the amplitude 10A and frequency 1 Hz selected for the inductive voltage test in ground.

5. This paper focuses on the EMS type, in which the active electromagnetic control plays an important role, so some references about EMS control can be added.

6. Please check and correct the grammar in the paper.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper descripted clearly the research background and the research process. A novel measure is put forward for the existing magnet of high speed EMS  maglev. The effect of damping coil is proved by means of analysis of mathmatical model, nuemrical simulation, and rig testing. I am satisfied on it.

The paper is wirtten well. Minor improvement suggestions:

1) EDS,SC, EMS, BS, HTS: abbreviation should be explained while their first occurring;

2) Line 163: pls. specified speed range

3) Section 2.2: is there a corresponding relationship between wave frequency of coil current mentioned in ground test and speed mentioned in actual vehicle test?
