Summary of the work: This study introduces a novel, practically waste-free method for sulfur dioxide (SO2) removal from flue gases, combining absorption and adsorption processes.  Modern techniques like CFD and additive manufacturing are applied in designing an efficient bubble-cap tray column. Experimental results affirm the technology's superiority over traditional methods, contributing to advancements in reactor design and offering eco-friendly solutions for flue gas desulfurization

As a reader, I appreciated the emphasis on the scientific discussions and rationale behind the experimental observations. It would be good to combine all the observations to create a cohesive synthesis to answer the question of what all of this means, however, the work is overall well done. To take their investigation further, it is recommended the authors consider Improving the design by optimizing three-phase flow, enhancing mixing, and conducting further kinetic studies in the future. Also consider scalability, long-term stability, and economic feasibility for real-world applications.
