Artificial Intelligence on Food Vulnerability: Future Implications within a Framework of Opportunities and Challenges

He is a rural territory and development sociologist with research and teaching interests in sustainable development, ethnocompetitiveness, social capital, indigenous peoples, food security, and institutional resilience. His regional interests are focused on Latin America. He is a Mexican academic with a PhD in Strategies for Regional Agricultural Development, obtained at the Colegio de Postgraduados (Mexico). His academic career has stood out both nationally and internationally, which has given him the opportunity to teach at various educational institutions, such as the Intercultural University of Puebla State (Mexico), the Pontifical Catholic University (Ecuador), the International Green Fund (Peru), and the University of Salamanca (Spain). In addition, he has been invited as a high-level social science expert by the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Ecuador (SENESCYT) to lead sustainable development projects. He is the founder and an active member of research networks, both nationally and internationally, focused on studies related to sustainability, social economy, and ancestral knowledge, with a presence in Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador. His contribution to research is reflected in the authorship of more than 100 publications, including books, book chapters, and articles on a wide range of topics, from ethnocompetitiveness and crafts to resilience, climate change adaptation, food systems, social capital, and indigenous peoples.
