Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,

The paper is well structured and flows well. Also, it is very well written. The Introduction and Background sections provide simple and elegant good explanations of gate harmonic control for the design of a Class C-F PA. The authors synthesise very clearly the background needed to understand the contribution of the paper. Moreover, the structure and operation of the proposed approach are very well explained. The novelty of the paper is clearly visible. The mathematical representation of some formulas could be improved. Not all abbreviations are defined in the text.

The experimental results demonstrate the possibility to design a Class F PA biased in Class C condition, by properly manipulating the harmonics at the input node. Measurements confirmed good efficiency and higher gain and finally, bandwidth is enhanced to 2.43GHz.

Reviewer 2 Report

In the paper the authors present the design and experimental verification of a Class F PA biased in Class C. In this way they define a new Class C-F PA.  The paper is good written and deserves publication in Applied Sciences.
