The authors developed a virtual reality experimental system that enables control and display of three-dimensional visual stimuli. In their study, they aimed to investigate the effect of depth information on visual complexity perception by comparing 2D and 3D displays of the same stimuli. They recruited 25 participants for their experiment.
They wrote that the results showed that depth information had different degrees of impact on visual complexity for different textures.
In spite of that this manuscript is written well, I have an objection.
Please do not write "subjects" for participants in 2.1. subsection and in its title.
Please write "observers" and not "subjects" as participants.

From the reviewer’s knowledge, this is an original and interesting study that analyses the effect of depth information on visual complexity perception of texture images in 2D and 3D conditions. The information provided allows forming an overview on the proposed research. The methodology is fairly good and the analysis is convincing. The experiment study shows that depth information significantly increased the visual complexity perception of the texture images. Some aspects of the paper can be improved:

  • What was the reason of using the distance of 1.00m to present the texture stimuli?
  • Maybe shorten the discussion section and add a conclusions section to the article.
  • Define the areas of use for the proposed study.
