The work by Kim et al shows thermal and structural characterization of glass systems for sealant applications. The metholodogy is appropriate, however the quality of the work is obscured by a very poor writing style and by the lack of a clear motivation and objective. The authors should carry out an effort to revise the paper and enrich it by 1) writing clearly their motivation clearly addressing their research questions, 2) improving their interpretation of the research findings addressing the questions below and 3) improving significantly their writing style

The motivation and objective of the work are not clear in the introduction

What do the authors refer to by chemical composition in the text: mole fraction? Mass fraction? They should specify it and not only include the definition in the table caption and in the abstract

The symbol of density is systematically wrong throughout the text

Figure 3a is difficult to be interpreted and deficiently labelled. What do the colors refer to? Why they are different between the three samples? There is barely no description of the figure in the text

Tx and Tp are not defined in the main text. They should be defined and their relation to thermal stability and glass forming ability explained in greater detail

How was the coefficient of thermal expansion obtained?

Error bars should be included in Figures 3b, 4 and 5

How were XPS fits to the maxima carried out?

  1. The purpose of the study is not very clear in the introduction. Further (line 354), the authors indicate the role of metal oxides in the glass-forming network. That is, before the start of the study, it was clear that the addition of aluminum oxide would improve the chemical stability.
  2. In Figure 3a it is necessary to indicate the direction of the exo or endo reaction
  3. Typically, for oxide glasses, the introduction of sodium lowers the glass transition temperature, by reducing the riginity of the glass network. In your work, glass with 15 mol% sodium oxide has a higher glass transition temperature. how do you explain this?
  4. Figure 5. Specify the error in determining the coefficient of thermal expansion
