Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

- The discussion of app algorithm development is lacking.

- This could be easily done by website platform. The benefit of app needs to be discussed.

Author Response

The authors would like to thank the reviewer for this first round of revision, which has made it possible to continue improving the manuscript, as well as to detect errors and make it as suitable as possible for publication.

Dear Authors, your paper describe the use of a software programmed to the diagnosys of all the problems which  can be found in Vineyard. Your role is also a scientific role and not only a advertaisment for the tool. I really appreciated you work and I think that it could represent a veruìy impotrtant instrument to improve the the knowledgwe among farmers. You must put your attention that all the pictures and information are right. For instance, in the bio control section the first insect is a coccinellidae. You call it Adalia bipunculata, but the right name is Adalia bipuncta. What is really serius is that the species in the pictures is Harmonia axyridis, which can produce problems during the vivinication process.

Another example in the section enfermedades you reported as fitoplasma only the MADERA NEGRA (Stolbur phytoplasma), but another increasing and serius fitoplasma is the Flavescence doreé whose vector is the leafhopper Scaphoideus titanus. I think that a instrument as your, must be as rigourous as possible, and to report all the information as complete as possible. I add a comments in the conclusion chapter describing that such paper is just an introductive contribution to the diffusione and the knowledge od the software and thas itscontents will be continuously updated during the time. I would advice to add a comments in the conclusion chapter describing that such paper is just an introductive contribution to the diffusione and the knowledge od the software and thas itscontents will be continuously updated during the time. Further I also would give the information the symptoms not always appear so clear and evident, particularly when they are at the beginning of their manifestation and could produce confusion because shared by more pests or illness. I advice to let control all the pictures and the list of pests and illness to specific experts to find the mistakes or absences as those I found.

The authors have reviewed the technical information and pictures uploaded to the "Viñamecum" app. As the reviewer indicates this process of improvement is continuous. We have corrected the name Adalia bipunctata and updated the pictures. We have also incorporated information on Flavescence doreé.

I add a comments in the conclusion chapter describing that such paper is just an introductive contribution to the diffusione and the knowledge od the software and thas itscontents will be continuously updated during the time. Regarding the suggestion to the chapter on conclusions, it has been included in lines 240-243.

Further I also would give the information the symptoms not always appear so clear and evident, particularly when they are at the beginning of their manifestation and could produce confusion because shared by more pests or illness. We agree with the reviewer that there are diseases that can only be confirmed by laboratory analysis. This warning has already been incorporated into some diseases. We are already taking this into account in our process of updating our data.

Reviewer 3 Report

Manuscript applsci-1184441 describes the development of a progressive web application for mobile devices to aid in diagnosing pests and diseases in the vineyard.  The research is of interest and well conducted.  One area of weakness is a lack of information on the pests and diseases to which the 400 photos selected for Viñamecum correspond.  A table listing these pests and diseases would be a welcome addition to the manuscript.  In addition, the manuscript is well written for the most part, although editorial changes should be considered for overall improvement of the quality of the text.  See suggested edits below:

As far as I can see you have integrated and corrected the shortcomings of the previous version. This shows that this tool is flexible and can be easily updated.
