BN-RA: A Hybrid Model for Risk Analysis of Overload-Induced Early Cable Fires
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
An interesting paper that provides data that may be useful for investigation of cable fire. The content of the manuscript is rich and has a certain degree of innovation, therefore recommended articles published in the journal.
The manuscript is not accurate enough, the paper modification is suggested. Specific recommendations are as follows:
- Question 1: The Arrhenius equation is used as a mathematical model to explain the thermal degradation process. Please explain Accelerated degradation time using Arrhenius equation more detail.
- Question 2: The accelerated aging time varies depending on the activation energy. What is the value of activation energy used to derive Table 2.
- Question 3: Heat generation varies depending on the structure of the cable(single-core, multi-core, insulation thickness, and installation method). In order to accurately determine the risk, the following factors should be considered. Please provide comments from the authors.
- Please explain experimental procedure more detail.
- Are 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 a reference number? If the reference is correct, please add square bracket.

Reviewer 2 Report
The paper presents an important topic taking into account the electrical installations present in a number of fields of activity. The quality of the presentation is very good. The way in which very well-known concepts are presented in the electrical field is useful for specialties in this field. One of the strengths of the study is given by the case study, respectively the experimental part.
However, considering that most electrical installations are the low voltage ones, the applicability of this study is relatively low for medium voltage installations.
