A Voxel-Based Watermarking Scheme for Additive Manufacturing
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Authors propose a method to include a water market in models and G-code for additive manufacturing in order to protect the intellectual property of the models. The method was tested in different parts with different geometries.
Comments:
The last part of the introduction includes methodological aspects that should be better located in another section.
Equation 1 is really two equations. Authors should separate them or show the down equation in the text.
Explain all the terms of eq.2 in the text.
It is not clear if the ROI (2.2 section and fig. 3) is chosen by the authors or automatically.

The paper “applsci-1361450” was read.
I have some comments to improve the quality of the paper. My comments are listed below. Authors are encouraged to read and address them, then I can review the final version of the paper.
The abstract is too wordy. Remove some of the wording and make it short and concise. Some sections of the abstract are not necessary.
Remove “copyright protection” from keywords.
Section 2.3.2 is not clear. Read this section and see how you can improve it. I suggest to make a sentence to link this section and “Correspondence Creation Using Iterative Training”.
Add some practical application for the watermark and show how this improves the quality of the AM components or make them more useful.
Add a statement about the cost of watermarking for mass production.
Add more results to your conclusion.
The introduction needs to be updated by the following new references.
