The way of mixed citation style (full names/numbers) in the introduction (lines 53 to 74) is rather unusual and shoul be modified. Language check is suggested (water-rock interaction); especially in 2. (lines 100 to 139) are some peculiar wordings (tectonic denudation, powered sand, artificial mining, harmlessly treated...)

The pollutant correlation coefficient matices (figs. 4b and 5.b) should be commented shortly.

Line 341, PHREEQC software needs citation and version used.

At the beginning of the abstract, there is an introduction to the necessity of doing the work, then the introduction of the study area, the purpose of the work, an introduction to the methods studied, and finally the results and suggestions.

  1. Introduction: You can add references such as:

1)Hydrochemical characterization and evaluation of groundwater quality in Dalgan basin, SE Iran.

2)Evaluation of groundwater quality and heavy metal pollution indices in Bazman basin, southeastern Iran.

3)Hydrogeochemistry study and groundwater quality assessment in the north of Isfahan, Iran.

4)Evaluation of groundwater quality and assessment of pollution indices for heavy metals in North of Isfahan Province, Iran.

5)Risk assessment and ranking of heavy metals concentration in Iran’s Rayen groundwater basin using linear assignment method.

  1. Description of study area: The study area should come before methodology.

 * In this section: Reference is necessary.

* Which water type do you think is most associated with chromium contamination? In other words, is there a relationship between water type and chromium pollution?

* Is there a connection between pH and chromium contamination?

 * Prepare a map to evaluate the risk at each sampling station based on the pollution rate for Cr element.

 * Pollution control and management strategies should be justified according to the geological environment of the region and the results obtained from the assessments. Based on the results of the research, the necessary solutions to reduce environmental pollution should be provided the study area.
